HIKING AT 7 FRATELLI PARK

Hiking at 7 Fratelli Park: the journey begins from the ancient penal colony of Castiadas, continuing by car for approximately 3 km. After parking, you venture on foot along dirt trails, breathing in the scents of myrtle, mastic, and strawberry trees.

The oasis of 7 Fratelli spans over 6,000 hectares and is characterized by the central massif with average heights of about 800 meters, the highest peak being Punta Ceraxia (1,016 meters). You cover almost 10 km on dirt roads, amidst an undergrowth so dense it seems almost impenetrable. There are plenty of hiking options, suitable for both beginners and experienced trekking enthusiasts.

The Seven Brothers mountains are also one of the main habitats of the Sardinian deer, an endemic subspecies of reduced size found only in Sardinia and Corsica. This beautiful animal, nearly on the brink of extinction in the 1980s, is now a species making a strong comeback, particularly in the mountains of Castiadas: with a bit of luck, you might even encounter one!
